Warm Balsamic Copal
The centre of the scent — golden, balsamic, faintly sweet, like sun on warm stone.

What lingers after the smoke settles — quiet, warm, and softly sweet.
What it's known for
Purification · Clarity · Renewal
Burned for centuries not for its fragrance alone, but by the Maya and Aztec to purify temples, honor the gods, and cleanse the spirit before ceremony.
Purification
Burned for centuries in temples and ceremonies to clear a space before it is used.
Clarity
A bright, resinous smoke traditionally lit to settle scattered thoughts.
Renewal
Said to invite new energy into a room — a scent for beginnings, not endings.
Warmth
A sun-warmed, balsamic smoke that fills a room with light rather than heaviness.
How to light it
The Ritual
01
Light the tip
Hold a flame to the tip of the stick for a few seconds, until it catches.
02
Let it settle to a smoulder
Blow out the flame gently. The ember will keep burning slowly, releasing a steady thread of smoke.
03
Rest it in the Relief Holder
Set the stick in the Relief Holder, designed specifically for our Copal incense sticks, and let the smoke rise at its own pace, filling the room. It burns slowly for about an hour.
Questions
Everything You Need to Know
Our Copal is sourced from Oaxaca, Mexico, a region where the golden resin of the copal tree has been used in ritual for centuries.
Yes. Copal was considered a sacred resin by the Maya and Aztec cultures, burned in temples and ceremonies to purify spaces, clear the mind, and invite new energy.
A warm, faintly citrusy and balsamic fragrance, reminiscent of frankincense — bright rather than heavy, recalling sun on warm stone and open air.
Each set contains 20 hand-rolled sticks, naturally resin-dried and gently sun-cured before rolling.
Keep the sticks somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight. The natural resin content is what carries the fragrance, so dry storage keeps it at its best.
